National Day of Mourning – April 28th, 2018

WHEREAS, the National Day of Mourning has been recognized since April 28th, 1991; and

WHEREAS, on April 28th we honour the millions of Ontarians impacted by a workplace fatality, injury or illness; and  

WHEREAS, according to the Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety in the twenty year period from 1995 to 2014, 18,039 people lost their lives due to work related causes (an average of 902 deaths per year); and

Candidate nominations and third party advertiser registration opens May 1

Starting May 1, candidates interested in running in the 2018 municipal or school board elections will be able to file their nomination papers with the clerk of the appropriate municipality. 

In addition to the mayor, regional councillor, councillor/alderman or school board trustee positions, the regional chair will now be an elected position. Nomination papers for the Regional Chair position will need to be filed with the Regional Clerk’s Office.

FOSS ROAD - NOTICE OF PRE-CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITY

WHY ARE WE DOING THIS?: In order to perform future Sanitary Sewer System Improvements on Foss Road and as part of the sanitary sewer design stage, a geotechnical investigation is required to be completed.

WHAT WILL YOU SEE?: You will observe drill rig equipment in the area in order to complete these works. 

WHEN IS THIS HAPPENING?:  You should be seeing activity relating to this project within the next week and the drilling fieldwork is expected to be completed within 1-2 days.
