Spring Branch Collection May 7 - June 1, 2018

Spring branch collection starts next week on May 7 and continues until June 1. Curbside branch collection is available across the region to all residents living in single-family homes and apartments with six units or less.
When setting out branches for collection, it is important to remember:
Branches must be tied in bundles
Maximum weight of bundle = 22.7 kg (50 lbs.)
Maximum size of bundle = 1.5 m (5 ft.) in length and 0.5 m (1.6 ft.) in diameter

Hillcrest Park in Pelham to be sprayed for Gypsy Moth

May 4, 2018
Pelham, ON –With spring arriving and the temperatures conducive to the project, the Town of Pelham will begin a gypsy moth spray program in the area of Hillcrest Park.
The spray program, in response to resident concern a year prior, will begin after May 15, weather depending. BioSim weather modelling will be used to predict the start date timing. A second application will occur seven days later.

National Day of Mourning – April 28th, 2018
WHEREAS, the National Day of Mourning has been recognized since April 28th, 1991; and
WHEREAS, on April 28th we honour the millions of Ontarians impacted by a workplace fatality, injury or illness; and
WHEREAS, according to the Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety in the twenty year period from 1995 to 2014, 18,039 people lost their lives due to work related causes (an average of 902 deaths per year); and
