K. Smart Associates Limited has been appointed by the Town of Pelham to conduct a master study of the Ridgeville Drain watershed and to investigate solutions for flooding problems.  This study is needed to address the increasing frequency of drainage related issues in the watershed over the last number of years.   All of the landowners in the watershed have been mailed an invitation, and are invited to attend the open public meeting regarding the finding of the Master Watershed Study. ...

Watermain break - Pelham Street and Quaker Road

Please note that there has been a watermain Break at the intersection of Pelham Street and Quaker Road.

To allow the Town to make the necessary emergency repairs the East Bound Lane of Quaker Road between Pelham Street and Line Avenue will be closed to traffic.

The Town's public works department has made every effort to notify affected residences, however due to the number of homes involved it was difficult to speak with everyone.

It's 3 a.m.

The soft cries of "Daddy" from my soon-to-be-three-year-old usually serve as my alarm – a good three hours later – but not today. Today my alarm, despite its soothing tones, sounds like nails on a chalkboard.

In a sleepy haze, I reach over to mute the pesky tings and vibrations, knocking over a remote, a bottle of water, and a 700-plus page hardcover book on Ted Williams, baseball's best pure hitter.

For good measure, I knock my phone – serving double duty as my alarm – on the floor too....
