FlexAgility™

FlexAgility™ is a mat based floor class designed to improve mobility, joint alignment, core strength and function. It helps us to understand the importance of good posture as it affects bone health and balance and contributes to the management of many conditions.

Using a combination of pilates and traditional muscle conditioning, the stretch and strengthening exercises are geared to the older body. Flexion free options are provided. Small equipment such as bands, mini-bands, small stability balls and discs etc. may be incorporated to enhance the experience.

Embark on a walking meditation journey accessible to all, regardless of your experience.  We will begin with gentle movement to ground ourselves, followed by a shared chant to align our energies.   We'll then engage in a unique walking technique, with chairs available for those who want them.  After preparing mind and body, we'll conclude by sitting in a meditation as we discover the very essence of our being as the ultimate reality.  Join this exploration, no meditation background required, as we discover peace step by step.

SeniorFIT (Fit with Brock)

This class is open to all fitness levels and is designed for those who are looking to add a little more challenge and variety to their exercise routine. Beginning with a full body warm up to get the blood pumping, we will progress through circuit style exercises using a variety of equipment, alternating between bursts of movement and rest. We will finish with a cool down, incorporating stretching and movements to improve your balance. By performing variations of strength, cardio, and balance exercises you will achieve a full body workout by targeting all major muscle groups. Modifications can be made for all exercises to meet your goals and needs.

 

Winter 2024 Schedule: SeniorFIT will be returning this Winter with a 12 week program running Monday, Wednesday and Fridays.  There will be 2 sessions available, the first from 8-9am and the second following from 9-10am.

Quickstep: Dynamic and energetic, progressive dance, done to lively, upbeat music.

Bachata: A playful, romantic Latin dance, featuring soft hip movements.

Hustle: The dance of the Disco Era of the 1970's! This is a smooth slot and rotational dance.

West Coast Swing: An easy going swing dance having a sensual, sophisticated and sexy nature.

Foxtrot: A progressive dance, often referred to as the walking dance, with a subtle rise and fall.

East Coast Swing: Experience the Rock-N-Roll era of the 50's & 60's.

Bolero: With its Latin influence of sliding steps and a close embrace, makes this a romantic and powerful dance.

Night Club Two Step: A relaxed and versatile social dance, that can be done to different genres of music.

Indoor cycling, often called spinning, is a form of exercise with classes focusing on endurance, strength, intervals, high intensity (race days) and recovery. It involves a special stationary exercise bicycle and a weighted flywheel in a classroom setting. Indoor cycling classes are as challenging as they are exhilarating. Benefits of this low impact exercise class include weight loss, improved strength, endurance and stress relief. High energy, cardio and a rocking playlist make this class suitable for all ages and fitness levels! Come give it a spin!

Pickleball Clinics

Pickleball clinics are a great opportunity to strengthen and develop techniques and skills, while learning from an experienced instructor.

 

Instructors:

Michael Robinson -  Has taught Pickleball for 47 years introducing Pickleball to elementary and secondary school students, teachers and adults of all ages.  Placed 8th in 2015 Mens Sinles OPEN Eastern Canadian Championships.

 

Adam Eatock - Adam is a 5.0 rated player who has participated and won many tournaments throughout North America.  He is born and raised in St. Catharines Ontario, and turned pro in 2020.  

 

Beginner Clinic 

Level of Play: Beginner - 2.5 (new to 3 months of experience)

This clinic will cover: Intro and History of the Sport; Basic Doubles positioning and strategy; Basic servicing and return of serve; Basic dinking, volley, half volley and smash techniques with footwork; Basic forehand and backhand ground stroke techniques (one and Two Handed).

 

Intermediate Clinic

Level of Play: Intermediate (3.0-3.5) 

This clinic will focus on consistence and Topspin techniques by covering: Intro to grip changes and technique for use of topspin; Serving: Intro to spin, power and depth; Court positioning and doubles strategy; Return of serve with spin and depth; Third shot/fifth shot strategy; Volley techniques with use of spin and depth strategy; Power smash technique and footwork; Recovery mid court skills; Ground stroke development through spin and power.

 

Experienced Clinic 

Level of Play: Experienced (4.0+)

This clinic will focus on power, depth and placement strategy by covering: Serving with power and depth; Return of serve with spin and depth; Volley with power, topspin and depth; Intro to doubles positioning/stacking strategies; singles skills for competitive players.

Tuesday March 26th from 1:30pm - 3:30pm

This clinic will cover dinking strategies with offensive & defensive techniques, volleying control on how to handle power shots, applying push volleys, and mid court resets to help for positional strategies.  Hour one - learning techniques, Hour two - implementing techniques via gameplay.

Tuesday April 2 from 1:30pm - 3:30pm

This clinic will cover overhead smash techniques/strategies, third shot drop techniques/strategies, body deception shot techniques, and defensive resets off overhead smashes/hard put-aways.  Hour one - learning techniques, Hour two - implementing techniques via gameplay.

 

 

 

 

Adult Pilates

A gentle movement class for all levels of fitness.  In this class we will focus on physical stamina, strength, balance, coordination and range of motion in the body.  Allowing us to move through our days with ease.  Core strength and stability will also be included.
Participants must be able to do floor works and standing exercises.  Please bring your own yoga/pilates mat.

Drum Circle
This drumming program invites community members to join in a collective group experience, led by an instructor, using various drums and percussion from around the world.  This non-verbal experience allows participants to express themselves on various levels, spiritually, mentally, and emotionally.  Participants will learn various rhythms and techniques to aid them throughout the session and for future experience.  No experience is necessary.  Join this collective experience, to not only bring a more positive vibe into the world, but also your own life.
Cost: $15 Per Session
