Introductory
Never participated in group fitness (sedentary lifestyle) or returning due to a break in fitness or injury (within one year).

Progressive
Active two or more days per week (i.e. personal fitness routine or group fitness), can participate at a moderate intensity level.

Performance
Active three or more days per week. Avid participation at a high intensity level.

Get out, be healthy and be social! The walking club meets every Tuesday and Thursday, all year round, 
rain or shine! 

 Make sure to dress appropriately for the weather. 

  • Tuesday – 9-10 a.m. -Meet at the Meridian Community Centre, 100 Meridian Way, Fonthill
  • Thursday – 9-10:30 a.m. -Meet at Peace Park Bandshell 20 Pelham Town Square, Fonthill
Yoga
Hatha Yoga

Yoga helps tone, lengthen, and strengthen muscles. This gentle form of yoga is perfect for beginners and

those with experience. This class focuses on alignment and breath.

Please bring your own yoga mat, 2 blocks and a yoga strap/old tie to each class.

 

Chair Yoga

Chair yoga is a gentle form of yoga that is practiced sitting on a chair, or standing using a chair for support.

Though yoga is beneficial for all, chair yoga is the perfect way for seniors to discover yoga.

Zumba

The Zumba Gold program targets baby boomers. It takes the Zumba®formula and modifies the moves
and pacing to suit the needs of the active older participant, as well as those just starting their journey to 
a fit and healthy lifestyle. What stays the same are all the elements the Zumba® Fitness class is known 
for: the zesty Latin music, like salsa, merengue, cumbia and reggaeton; the exhilarating, easy-to-follow 
moves; and the invigorating, party-like atmosphere. Active older adults want camaraderie, excitement
and fitness as a regular part of their weekly schedule. The Zumba Gold class is the perfect fit.
It's a dance-fitness class that feels friendly, and most of all, fun.
