Canboro Road Watermain Replacement

The Town of Pelham will be replacing the existing water main on the following streets: Canboro Road from Haist Street to Church Hill, Canboro Road from Church Hill to Highway 20 and Highway 20 from Canboro Road to Pelham Street. The project involves the replacement of 950m of existing cast iron watermains, replacement of all water services and shut-off valves up to the property lines, and trench restoration on the streets mentioned above.

College and Emmett Street Reconstruction

The Town of Pelham is proceeding with plans to reconstruct College Street and Emmett Street between Pelham Street and Station Street in Fonthill. The design is to include the full urbanization of College and Emmett Street, complete with curbs and gutters, AODA-compliant sidewalks, new storm sewers, and the replacement of the existing sanitary sewers and water mains. The project is expected to be tendered for construction in 2027.

Foss Road Sanitary Sewer Replacement

Foss Street’s sanitary sewer, from the pumping station to Church Street (approx. 550m), is in need of replacement due to the planned increase in development in Fenwick. Completion of this project will therefore preemptively address the issues associated with increasing peak sanitary flows and potentially undersized sanitary sewer systems.

Fire Station One Construction

The Town of Pelham is proceeding with plans to replace Fire Station 1, located at 177 Highway 20 W, which is a 44-year-old facility that the Fire Department has outgrown. The new Fire Station Facility is anticipated to be approximately 14,000 square feet, including approximately 6,500 square feet of truck bay space, consisting of five bays to accommodate four apparatus, including a pumper, aerial, rescue and a tanker.

Merritt Road Reconstruction

The Town of Pelham will be urbanizing Merritt Road between Pelham Street and Rice Road. This project will include a new multi-use trail connecting the Steve Bauer Trail and the Trail on Rice Road, new sidewalks from Pelham Street to Line Avenue, and new water mains, sanitary sewer, and storm sewer.

Pelham Pool Renovation

The Pelham pool renovation involves a comprehensive rehabilitation and upgrade of the existing outdoor pool facility at 55 Park Lane. Due to this extensive work, the pool will remain closed for the 2026 season. The Pelham pool renovation is being completed with support from the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program (ICIP) grant.

Station Street Urbanization

The Town of Pelham is proceeding with plans to reconstruct Station Street between Highway 20 East and Port Robinson Road in Fonthill. The project includes a new storm sewer, sidewalks, curb/gutter and trail improvements. Design for the project is anticipated to be completed December 2025, and the project is expected to be tendered for construction in 2026.
