As we reflect on the anniversary of the first case of COVID-19 in Niagara, we acknowledge both our community’s journey, and what still lies ahead.  

We recognize those who have lost their lives as a result of this pandemic. At present, COVID-19 has claimed the lives of 369 residents, leaving a lasting impact on their families, friends and caregivers alike. Feedback sought in Comprehensive Zoning By-Law review

Pelham, ON – The Town of Pelham is reviewing its Comprehensive Zoning By-Law, approved initially in 1987. The current by-law is outdated, requiring updating as significant time has elapsed since prepared initially more than 30 years ago. 

The review ensures the new by-law represents current development trends and will be flexible to respond to future changes. Additionally, the Zoning By-law needs to be updated to conform with the Town Official Plan.

Preparation for COVID-19 Immunizations for Residents 80+

Niagara Region Public Health is busy preparing for the launch of our COVID-19 mass immunization clinics in the coming weeks.
Last week the 11 clinic locations were announced, and Public Health continues to work with these community partners to be ready once vaccine supply is available. The clinics will open and operate on a rotating basis, and will increase in frequency over the next few weeks as Public Health staff and volunteers work to get vaccines into the arms of Niagara’s 80+ residents...

Flags to fly at half mast in recognition of one-year anniversary of first COVID-19 case in Niagara

flags at town hall flying at half mastThe Town of Pelham will join other Niagara municipalities in lowering flags at Town facilities to half-mast from March 12-14 to honour and remember those who have died of COVID-19 over the past year. 

Lowering the flags during this time coincides with the one-year marking of the first COVID-19 case in Niagara as well as the closing of Town Hall on March 13, 2020.

Since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, more than 300 Niagara lives been lost to COVID.
