Pelham Awarded Prestigious Bicycle Friendly Designation

Today, the Town of Pelham becomes the first Canadian town of its size to receive the coveted Bicycle Friendly Community designation. Awarded during the 2013 Ontario Bike Summit, Pelham joins Ottawa, Toronto, Waterloo, and Hamilton in accepting a Silver designation—no municipality has yet attained Gold.
The Share the Road Cycling Coalition, an Ontario-based organization promoting bicycling through advocacy, selected Pelham for its commitment to healthy lifestyles, active transportation and safe cycling.

Teaching Fire Safety to Pelham Elementary Students

Pelham elementary school students in grades four to eight are in for a treat! The E.L. Crossley Drama Department is putting on a play to teach them about fire safety.
Saskia Holditch, Fire Prevention Officer with the Town of Pelham, approached the high school drama department to help develop an effective educational tool for elementary school students. “I wanted the message to come from a group the children looked up to so that it resonated better with them.”

Residents, businesses, tenants and organizations within the immediate vicinity of downtown Fenwick will notice the restoration of Fenwick's iconic flagpole begin Thursday, March 28, 2013, at the intersection of Canboro Road and Maple Street.
