Pelham Hosting Child Car Seat Clinic

The Town of Pelham, in collaboration with Pelham Fire and the Niagara Auxiliary O.P.P, is hosting a child car seat clinic to ensure the safety of children travelling in vehicles.

Certified Child Car Seat Technicians will be on site in Pelham to answer questions and help inspect, install, and make corrections to car seats. Anyone interested in participating can do so on:

Public Creative Problem Solving Session Regarding Longboarding in Pelham

During their regular meeting on August 12, 2013, Pelham Council agreed to organize a creative problem solving session with key stakeholders regarding longboarding in Pelham. At that time, Council also made a decision that no options recommending the permanent closure of town roads would be considered as possible solutions.

During a July 25, 2013, creative problem solving session with Pelham longboarders and their parents, concerned neighbours, the Niagara Regional Police, Pelham By-Law Enforcement, and Town Staff, the question of “How might we work with the community to ensure the safety of youth skate/longboarding on municipal streets?” was considered.

Pelham residents are concerned for the safety of local longboarders and skateboarders, and Niagara Regional Police confirms there are indeed reasons to worry.
