During their regular meeting on August 12, 2013, Pelham Council agreed to organize a creative problem solving session with key stakeholders regarding longboarding in Pelham. At that time, Council also made a decision that no options recommending the permanent closure of town roads would be considered as possible solutions.
Therefore, all members of the community interested in providing input regarding longboarding in our town are invited to a creative problem solving session on:
Wednesday, September 4th, 2013, at 6 p.m. at Pelham Fire Station #2 (766 Welland Road in Fenwick)
Aiming to help answer the question How Might We Ensure the Safety of Youth Longboarding in Pelham?, the following stakeholders will also attend the workshop:
• local skateboarders and longboarders
• interested residents
• members of the Niagara Regional Police
• a consultant from New Line Skateparks Co. (developing the Isaac Riehl Memorial Skate Park)
• staff from the Town's Recreation, Culture and Wellness Department
• the Pelham Fire Chief, By-law Officer, and a planner
• an insurance representative
