'Tis the season to be careful! To help keep you safe during the holiday season, Town of Pelham Fire Services is once again bringing you the “12 Days of Holiday Fire Safety”.
Starting on Monday, December 8, 2014 tune in to Newstalk 610 CKTB’s Tim Denis in the Morning on weekdays to hear one of the life-saving fire safety tips and for the chance to win a prize package valued at $60!
The prize package consists of:
a Kidde 10 Year Worry Free Talking Smoke Alar
a "Be Safe for the Holidays" Acrylic tumbler
a mini flameless holiday candle
a gift bag of assorted kitchen items
Newstalk 610 CKTB listeners can enter the contest by noting the day’s fire safety tip and e-mailing it the Pelham Fire Department at sholditch@pelham.ca or by phoning it in to (905) 892-2607 ext. 202.
Be sure to pay close attention as there will be a different fire safety message each day.
“During the busy holidays, it is important to test your smoke alarms to ensure they work, and to develop and practice a home escape plan with all family members,” said Pelham Fire Chief Bob Lymburner. “Be fire aware and follow the 12 Days of Holiday Fire Safety tips. They could save your life.”
More than 300 fire departments participate in the province-wide public safety campaign, which this year includes a dramatic new YouTube video showing the right and wrong way to equip your home for the holidays. The new video, entitled 3 Minutes of Holiday Havoc, is available on the Safeathome.ca YouTube channel as of noon on Tuesday, December 9, 2014. The piece captures a room burn simulation set up at the Toronto Fire Academy.
Pelham Fire Services is proud to participate in the 12 Days of Holiday Fire Safety 2014 campaign and asks you to please be extra vigilant as more festive cooking, celebrating and decorating takes place around homes this time of year.
