Location matters when it comes to your smoke alarms. That’s the message behind the 2015 Fire Prevention Week campaign, “Hear the Beep Where You Sleep!”

Along with firefighters and safety advocates nationwide, Pelham Fire Services is reminding everyone during this year’s Fire Prevention Week (October 4 to 10) about the importance of having working smoke alarms outside each sleeping area and on every level of the home, including the basement.

Pelham Fire Services is reminding residents that flying paper lanterns (also known as sky lanterns) are a potential fire hazard, particularly during the current hot and humid weather conditions.
