Temporary Road Closure Continues: Summersides Boulevard – Between Station Street and Klager Avenue
The Town of Pelham is excited to share that it has been awarded an Ontario Public Works Association Small Communities Project of the Year Award for the 2025 stormwater management pond rehabilitation program.
The Town of Pelham has begun the rural roadside mowing program. The initial cut, occurring over the next three weeks, weather permitting, mows from the road to the bottom of the ditch in rural areas. The cut assists in controlling weeds, ticks and other invasive species. The mowing also assists in improving road drainage and sight lines for vehicles.
The Town of Pelham Water & Wastewater Department will begin hydrant flushing the week of June 1, 2026, as part of its annual maintenance program.
The Town of Pelham is initiating a review of its building permit fees and Building By-law to ensure compliance with the Ontario Building Code and to maintain full cost recovery for building services. Interested members of the public are invited to attend a Public Open House concerning an update of the Building Permit Fee & Building By-law Review.
This Notice of Adoption of the new Town of Pelham Official Plan (“the Official Plan”) is issued pursuant to section 17 of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, c. P. 13 (“Planning Act”).
On May 20, 2026, the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Pelham adopted the Official Plan by By-law No. 26-2026, in accordance with section 17 of the Planning Act. The Official Plan was prepared pursuant to Section 26 of the Planning Act to comprehensively apply provincial land use and planning policies while also addressing local priorities.
The Town of Pelham retained Watson & Associates Economists Ltd. to undertake a review of its Building Permit Fees. The public meeting will include a presentation by Watson & Associates Economists Ltd., on the report findings related to the building permit fee amendments. Upon conclusion of the presentation, any person in attendance will have an opportunity to make representations with respect to the matter.
The Building Code Act, provides the authority for a municipality to pass a bylaw prescribing fees for various classes of building permits and states that the total amount of fees must not exceed the anticipated reasonable costs of a municipality to administer and enforce the Building Code Act.
A copy of the Consultant’s report regarding the Building Permit Review is available on the Town website by clicking here under the heading of Building Permit Submission - 2026 Building Fees and By-law Study at the Community Planning and Development Department. Copies will be made available at no cost at Town Hall.

Applications for Draft Plan of Subdivision (Tanner Extension Phase 2 Subdivision) and Zoning By-law Amendment were received for the property located east of Stickles Street and west of Line Avenue known legally as Part Township Lot 177, Thorold; Part 5 Plan 59R-17615; subject to an easement in gross over Part 25 on 59R-18243 as in SN824330; Part 3 Plan 59R-17615; subject to an easement in gross over Part 24 on 59R-18243 as in SN824330; and Part 1, Plan 59R-17615; in the Town of Pelham, Regional Municipality of Niagara.
