Effective Monday July 20, Town of Pelham Fire Chief Bob Lymburner has removed the open-air burn ban.
Open-air burning and fireworks are permitted in the Town of Pelham following the lifting of the ban in accordance with Town by-laws.
The Town of Pelham is proceeding with plans to reconstruct College Street and Emmett Street between Pelham Street and Station Street in Fonthill. The design is to include the full urbanization of College and Emmett Street, complete with curbs and gutters, AODA-compliant sidewalks, new storm sewers, and the replacement of the existing sanitary sewers and water mains. The project is expected to be tendered for construction in 2027 following the substantial completion of the Station Street Reconstruction.

The Town of Pelham will be replacing the existing sewer, completing trench restoration on Foss Road, and tunnelling beneath the CPKC Railway as part of the Foss Road Sewer Replacement Project.
The Town of Pelham has begun the rural roadside mowing program. The initial cut, occurring over the next three weeks, weather permitting, mows from the road to the bottom of the ditch in rural areas. The cut assists in controlling weeds, ticks and other invasive species. The mowing also assists in improving road drainage and sight lines for vehicles.
The Town of Pelham is initiating a review of its building permit fees and Building By-law to ensure compliance with the Ontario Building Code and to maintain full cost recovery for building services. Interested members of the public are invited to attend a Public Open House concerning an update of the Building Permit Fee & Building By-law Review.
