Town of Pelham Expands Youth Programming at the Meridian Community Centre

Press release

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

September 3, 2025

Pelham, ON – This fall, the Town of Pelham is excited to introduce a variety of new and unique youth programs at the Meridian Community Centre (MCC). With growing demand for youth programming, the Recreation, Culture and Wellness team continues to connect with community partners to bring innovative and engaging opportunities for children and families right here in Pelham.

With programming beginning in September, families can register now for exciting new programs including Zumbini, a music and movement program for children ages 0 to 6 and their caregivers that uses music and play to promote social, emotional, and cognitive development while building strong caregiver-child bonds. The Little Medical School series will also be offered, with after-school and weekend programs for ages 3 to 12 that provide hands-on learning in areas such as veterinary care, forensic science, and medical marvels. Children can explore their curiosity, practice critical thinking, and spark an early interest in science and healthcare. For those who love technology, Battle Robots invites youth to get creative, learn engineering strategies, and put robots to the test with soccer matches, relay races, and dozens of fun challenges.

These new offerings join a growing list of youth programs at the MCC, including music, theatre, and drama programs, providing even more options for children to explore their passions.

"We are so excited to work with our community partners to bring these unique programs to Pelham," said Brittany MacLeod, Active Living Programmer for the Town of Pelham. "Each partnership adds something special and gives our youth opportunities they might not otherwise have access to.

The Meridian Community Centre continues to serve as a hub of activity for all ages from infants to seniors. With expanded program offerings, the MCC reaffirms its role as a gathering place that fosters wellness, creativity, and community connections.

Registration is now open for all fall youth programs. Families are encouraged to sign up early to secure their spot.
