Town of Pelham Celebrates Small Business Month with launch of New Business Directory

Pelham, ON – October is Small Business Month in Ontario, and the Town of Pelham is celebrating the entrepreneurs, shop owners, artisans, and talented service providers.

To support and showcase these businesses, the Town of Pelham has launched a free online business directory for all Pelham-based businesses and those who are part of Town led events. This new resource will make it easier for residents and visitors to discover local shops, services, restaurants, and suppliers, all in one place.

The directory aims to highlight the best that the Pelham business community has to offer, from unique retail experiences and family-owned restaurants to trusted tradespeople and talented local makers. In today’s current landscape, every dollar spent at a local business helps to keep money circulating within the community, supporting local jobs, funding community initiatives, and strengthening Pelham’s local economy.

“Small businesses are part of the foundation of our community,” said Mayor Marvin Junkin. “They provide goods and services, create local jobs, and help shape Pelham’s unique character. This directory is one more way the Town is supporting local businesses and encouraging residents to shop small.”

Residents can show support for Pelham’s local businesses through a variety of ways beyond making a purchase. Residents are encouraged to take action by recommending a favourite business to friends and family, writing a positive review, following and subscribing to local business social media accounts, engaging with their posts, or signing up for newsletters to stay connected. Every action helps to support local businesses and their success.

The Town encourages everyone to “Shop Local” now and throughout the year by choosing local businesses first. Whether dining out, buying gifts, or booking services, each decision to support a Pelham business helps sustain the community’s economic health and local pride.
