Pelham, ON - With $2,000 in continued support from the Niagara Community Foundation (NCF) Summer Camp Grant, 10 Pelham-area youth will have the opportunity to attend summer camp in 2025.

The grant, awarded to the Town of Pelham in support of its ongoing partnership with Pelham Cares, helps ensure local children who may otherwise be unable to attend due to financial constraints can experience the joy, friendship, and adventure of summer camp. The funding directly supports youth ages 4 to 12, giving them access to one of the Town’s weeklong day camps that include dynamic programming, outdoor play at local parks and splash pads, and a field trip to a regional attraction.

“Camp is more than just a week of activities—it’s a chance for children to build friendships, gain independence, and create happy memories that last well beyond the summer,” said Vickie vanRavenswaay, Town of Pelham Director of Recreation, Culture and Wellness. “Support from the Niagara Community Foundation allows us to provide these enriching experiences to more children in our community.”

The NCF Summer Camp Program aims to support Niagara children in financial need by enabling access to various camping and recreation experiences. The grant helps youth build confidence, develop new skills, and create lasting summer memories.

“NCF is pleased to support the Town of Pelham’s summer camp program once again,” says Bryan Rose, executive Director of NCF. “NCF has been providing Summer Camp grants to municipalities and charities across Niagara for over 20 years. We continue to make this granting stream a priority as we know how impactful summer camp can be on a child’s life. We’re grateful for partners like the Town of Pelham who provides this invaluable programming in our community.”

Pelham Cares provides subsidies for youth to participate in sports and recreational programming. Subsidy support is available for eligible families registered with Pelham Cares.
