Meeting Date:     Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at 5:30 p.m.

Purpose

Town of Pelham Mayor Marvin Junkin has called a Special Meeting of Council to discuss Regional Governance Reform in Niagara.

The purpose of the meeting is to provide a further opportunity for residents and members of Council to share their views on the future of regional governance in Niagara. No decisions are being made at the special meeting of council.

Residents who wish to address Council will be provided five (5) minutes each to make their comments.

Following public presentations, Town of Pelham Councillors will also be provided an opportunity to offer comments.

The Special Meeting can be viewed by livestream on the Town’s YouTube Channel at www.pelham.ca/live The link will go live at the date and time prescribed on this notice. A recording of the meeting will also be available on YouTube and the Town of Pelham website following the meeting. Attendees are welcomed to view the meeting in-person at the date, time and location prescribed on this Notice.

Written Submissions

Written comments are encouraged as the preferred method of receiving public input. Please provide written input by mailing or e-mailing your comments to governancereview@pelham.ca for inclusion in the comments submitted to the Province of Ontario following the Special Meeting.

Written submissions may also be delivered in person to the Clerk’s Office at Town Hall or deposited in the municipal drop box. For greater clarity, all written submissions received will not be included on the council agenda and will instead be forwarded to the Region and the Province for review. Personal contact information contained within written submissions will be redacted prior to submission. Individuals are encouraged to review the Town’s Council Correspondence Policy for further information regarding the submission, handling, and public disclosure of correspondence.

Verbal Submissions – In-person Participation

Members of the public wishing to provide verbal comments may attend in person on the date, time, and location identified in this Notice. Verbal submission will be limited to five (5) minutes, and a summary will be included in the submission to the Region and Province.

Members of the public wishing to provide verbal comments remotely by Zoom are required to pre-register with the Town Clerk by telephone or email no later than noon on Wednesday, March 11, 2026. Please note that all verbal submissions, regardless of the method of participation, are live-streamed and recorded.

Participant Process During Meetings

  • Each participant will be provided a maximum of five (5) minutes to speak and will be afforded one opportunity to address Council during the Special Meeting.
  • Vulgar or offensive language/comments will not be tolerated. If inappropriate language is used, you will be removed from the meeting.
  • Participants joining remotely are responsible for ensuring their backgrounds are free of offensive or vulgar material. If inappropriate material is visible, you will be removed from the meeting.
