Notice of Public Information Centre: Station Street Reconstruction from Highway 20 East to Port Robinson Road

The Town of Pelham is proceeding with plans to reconstruct Station Street between Highway 20 East and Port Robinson Road in Fonthill. The project includes a new storm sewer, sidewalks, curb/gutter and trail improvements. Design for the project has been completed and the project is expected to be tendered for construction in 2026.

The design is to include the full urbanization of Station Street from Port Robinson Road to Hwy 20, complete with curb and gutter, AODA sidewalk, a new multi-use pedestrian path, a new storm sewer and via Summersides Boulevard to collect runoff from Church Hill, Emmet Street, College Street, and Summersides / Pelham Town Square.

The design shall take into account improvements to the following intersections:

• Station Street and Emmett Street
• Station Street and College Street
• Station Street and Summersides/Pelham Town Square

The engineering assignment is to include the detailed design, tender document preparation and tendering assistance for the reconstruction of Station Street from Port Robinson Road to Hwy 20.

Public Information Centre

A Public Information Centre has been arranged to provide an opportunity for individuals, interest groups and agencies to review the proposed design. The Public Information Centre (PIC) will consist of an informal drop-in centre with drawings on display to present the project and provide the opportunity for comments. Representatives from the Town of Pelham and the engineering consultant, Kerry T.Howe Engineering Ltd. will be present to answer questions and discuss the construction. The PIC will be held as follows:

• Date: Wednesday, November 12, 2025

• Time: 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.        

• Location: Accursi Room, Meridian Community Center, Fonthill

Anyone with interest in the project is invited to attend and participate. Comments and information regarding this project are being collected in accordance with the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act for the purpose of meeting environmental assessment requirements. With the exception of personal information, all comments will become part of the public record and taken into consideration prior to finalizing the design and/or construction mitigation measures.
