Help Name the Concession at the Meridian Community Centre

Pelham, ON – The Town of Pelham is excited to announce a community naming contest for the concession lounge at the Meridian Community Centre (MCC). Residents of all ages are invited to submit creative and meaningful name ideas that will help give this space that serves the community, a unique identity.

The MCC Concession, operated by the Town of Pelham since May of this year, is a gathering spot that serves the over half a million people who visit each year. From athletes and families to visitors attending tournaments, events, and programs, the concession is a central feature of the community centre. The first-floor concession lounge is ready for a name that reflects the welcoming spirit of the MCC and the people who gather there.

The contest is open to all Pelham residents, including children. If under 18, submissions must be made by a parent or guardian. Each entry must be original, respectful, and appropriate, and names should capture the inclusiveness of the Meridian Community Centre. Suggestions that are deemed inappropriate or disrespectful will be removed and proper names will be reviewed before consideration. 

“The concession plays such an important role in welcoming residents and visitors to the Meridian Community Centre,” said Kristina Clint, Manager of Recreation, Culture and Wellness. “This contest is an opportunity for the community to have some fun and contribute to a space that brings people together.”

To participate, residents can submit their name idea along with a short explanation of why they believe it is a good fit for the MCC Concession. Submissions can be made online at www.pelham.ca/concession or in person at the MCC. Contest entries will be accepted until Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at midnight and the winning name will be officially unveiled at a naming event at the MCC on Friday, October 24, 2025.
