A Temporary Works Permit is required if you use Town property, such as a road, sidewalk or boulevard, to do works or other activities. Without this permit, you cannot block or occupy any part of the Town’s right-of-way (ROW).
When is a Temporary Works Permit Required?
Here are some examples of activities that require a temporary works permit, including but not limited to:
• Construction on a road, boulevard or sidewalk
• Temporary or partial road closure
• Placing moving containers, dumpster or storage units on the road or boulevard
• Storing building or landscaping materials on a road or boulevard
• Sidewalk obstructions that affect pedestrians
• Building maintenance from a public sidewalk
• Tapping into the Town’s water main, sanitary sewer or storm sewer

2. Submit your application and required documents. You can apply in person at Town Hall’s Engineering Department or email publicworks@pelham.ca
3. If approved, you will receive an email with a permit number and details about how to pay for the applicable fees.
Fees
• You must pay $661.00 administration fee prior to the application being reviewed.
• You must provide a $2000.00 security deposit (this will be refunded after the works are completed, within 1 year)
• The Engineering Department will determine any additional fees associated with the application while the review is taking place.
• Pay in person at Town Hall by cheque, cash or debit.
• Check the User Fees and Charges to find the most current fees.
Return of Security Deposit
All restoration work must be completed within one (1) year of the date the temporary works permit is issued.
