Outdoor Tennis & Pickleball

Outdoor Pickleball Courts are located at Centennial Park (989 Church Street, Fenwick)

Town of Pelham Outdoor Tennis Courts are located at Centennial Park (989 Church Street, Fenwick).

Additional courts are available for rent through the Fonthill Lions Club at the Gordon L. Klager Park (103 Hurricane Road, Fonthill). 

Platform Tennis Courts are available through Fonthill Platform Tennis (15 Accursi Crescent, Fonthill).

A $50 security deposit is required for the fob.

Courts are accessed by a fob key system. Members can register online or in person, and can visit the Meridian Community Centre to receive the fob for court access for the season. Click Here To Register Online!

August 16th- 2 courts are reserved for a Pickleball Clinic from 8:00-10:00am

August 23- 2 courts are reserved for a Pickleball Clinic from 9:30-11:30am

August 31- All courts are reserved from 8am-1pm for a members tournament. 

Pickleball clinics are a great opportunity to strengthen and develop techniques and skills, while learning from an experienced instructor.

Beginner Pickleball Clinic Level 1

Are you new to pickleball and want a better understanding of the basics? In this 2-hour clinic, you will learn both types of serve, return of serve, dinking, volleys, positioning on court, how to keep score, and pickleball rules. Our experienced instructor will offer personalized tips to improve your technique and help you feel more comfortable on the court. Come join us in a supportive environment, where you can grow as a player and have fun while doing it!

This clinic is taught by Lea Holmes, a certified NCPP pickleball instructor who has over 13 years of experience.

 

Beginner Pickleball Clinic Level 2

Time to take your beginner skills to the next level?

This 2 hour clinic is for those players who have taken the Beginner Pickleball Clinic Level 1, have put several hours into practicing what you learned, are comfortable playing, and know all the rules.

In Level 2, by implementing a variety of drills, you will learn the soft game, quick hands, third shot drops and drives, ball placement, body positioning, footwork, as well as key strategies to play smarter and more confidently.

This clinic is taught by Lea Holmes, a certified NCPP pickleball instructor who has over 13 years of experience.

The Town of Pelham offers Tennis lessons, based on availability and by resident request with Marko Petkovic.

Marko Petkovic is a certified Coach 2 and US PTR Professional Coach as well as a member of the TPA. As a former junior Provincial player and a 4 year member of the Brock University varsity team, he has been coaching tennis throughout the Niagara Region for 20 years. Marko would consider himself a coach geared towards development and has had the pleasure of being involved in both progressive and high performance tennis programs. Currently he is working full time at the Youngs Sportsplex in Welland, where he hopes to establish a solid foundation for Juniors. Marko has been dedicated to the development of tennis across the Niagara Region, having coached at several of Niagara's largest clubs. His passion for coaching can also be seen through his involvement in the community. For 5 years Marko has served as a volunteer coach for his former high school tennis team.

The Big & Little Tennis Tournament is a fun and friendly doubles round robin competition, where each team pairs a “Little” (a younger player) with a “Big” (an older player). It’s designed to promote teamwork and community through tennis. Please note the Little player must be between 10 and 15 years old. The Big player must be at least 10 years older than their Little partner. We strongly recommend that players have prior tennis experience before applying to participate in this tournament.

The tournament will be taking place on Saturday, September 20, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM at Centennial Park (989 Church Street, Fenwick). Free parking is available on-site.

Little players: Must be between 10 and 15 years old.

Big players: Must be at least 10 years older than their Little partner.

We are committed to making the tournament inclusive. If you or your partner requires any accessibility accommodations, please let us know on the application form or email bmacleod@pelham.ca in advance.

Yes! You and your partner will need to apply together as a team. Please include both players’ information in the application form.

You can complete the application form online. Click Here to Apply Online! Please fill out the form to indicate your interest in participating. You will be contacted by the Tennis Tournament Organizer after your application has been reviewed and approved with information regarding next steps and how to make payment.

Yes, the fee is $80 per team. This covers tournament participation, refreshments, player t-shirts, prizes, and a keepsake certificate.

We strongly recommend that players have prior tennis experience before applying to participate in this tournament.

Please bring your tennis racket, comfortable athletic wear, proper tennis shoes, and a lunch. Tennis balls and light refreshments will be provided.

Please notify bmacleod@pelham.ca as soon as possible if you can’t attend. This allows us to find a new team.

In case of rain, the tournament will be rescheduled to Sunday, September 21, 2025. Participants will be notified by email.

Yes! There will be fun prizes for all players plus a certificate of participation.

Absolutely! Families and friends are welcome to cheer on the players. We encourage a positive and supportive atmosphere for everyone.
