Love My Neighbourhood is a community-building program that empowers Pelham residents to bring their neighbourhoods to life with small, local gatherings in public parks and shared spaces. Whether it's a picnic, chalk art day, or a neighbourhood game day - you bring the idea, and the Town will help make it happen!

Love My Neighbourhood is all about: 

      • Bringing neighbours together
      • Making use of local parks and green spaces 
      • Reducing barriers to hosting inclusive, fun events 
      • Supporting local businesses with Pelham Bucks

Love my Neighbourhood Program Highlights

Hosting a Love My Neighbourhood event is a fun, low-stress way to get to know your neighbours, celebrate your local park, shop and support local businesses and make lasting memories. 

Events must be: 

  • held in person 
  • free of any entry charges
  • inclusive and open to everyone in a defined neighbourhood, community or street
  • designed to foster neighbour-to-neighbour connection 
  • held between 10:00 am and 10:00 pm for up to 3 hours

Approved applications will receive:  

  • Up to $175 in Pelham Bucks to be used towards your event
  • Liability insurance through the Town of Pelham 
  • Access to the Town Event trailer, filled with various lawn games, equipment, signage and more!
  • Support and guidance from Town staff to help your event run smoothly

Apply to the Love my Neighbourhood program

To apply, please fill out the online application form below (please provide 3-4 weeks notice), where you'll describe your event plans and what help you'll need, as well as how you'll be using your Pelham Bucks. Town staff will review your request and get in touch with the next steps!

Frequently Asked Questions

Any resident of the Town of Pelham can apply. The Town encourages individuals, families, community groups, or informal neighbourhood teams to take the lead in organizing an inclusive, small-scale event in a public park or shared space within Pelham.

Events should be free, inclusive, in-person, and open to all neighbours in a defined area. Ideas include picnics, barbecues, ice cream socials, art projects, trivia nights, lawn games, coffee meetups, and more.

Events must focus on bringing neighbours together in a welcoming and social way.

 

Successful applicants may receive up to $175 in Pelham Bucks to cover event costs such as food or supplies from local businesses.

The Town also provides access to a Resource Kit/Trailer that includes a table, games, signage, and other materials to help bring the event to life.

The Town of Pelham provides liability insurance.

Pelham Bucks are vouchers redeemable at participating local businesses.

Events must be hosted in a public space or park within the Town of Pelham.

The location must be clearly defined in your application, and organizers are encouraged to choose a space that is easily accessible for their neighbourhood.

Applications must be submitted at least 3 to 4 weeks before your planned event.

This allows Town staff time to review your request, confirm logistics, and coordinate any supplies, trailer delivery, and all other details to support your event. 

Yes, liability insurance is required for all Love My Neighbourhood events. Insurance is provided through the Town.

Town staff will help guide you through the process during application review.
