Pelham Swim Team

Join Pelham’s Competitive Swim Team and become a Pelham Penguin!

The Pelham Penguins are returning for another great season, training at the Niagara Centre YMCA – Welland while the Pelham Pool is under construction. Swimmers will build skills, confidence, and team spirit in a fun and supportive environment!

The program is open to swimmers of any age who can swim one full 25‑metre length without assistance. Saturday morning meets take place across the Niagara region, and while participation is optional, swimmers must attend at least one meet to compete at Regionals.

  • $125 registration fee
  • Three weekly practices on Tue, Wed, Thurs 4 - 5 PM
  • Saturday meets across Niagara
  • Space limited to 70 swimmers

The Pelham Public Pool will be under renovation for the 2026 season. 

The Town of Pelham pool is undergoing substantial renovations with support from the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program (ICIP) grant. Due to the extensive nature of the renovations, the pool will be under construction and closed for the 2026 season.

Pelham Splash Pads

Open Daily: 9:00 a.m. to Dusk. Victoria Day Weekend through to Labour Day.
Please note that there is no Lifeguard present at the splash pads. In the event of an emergency call 911.

The Splash Pad may be closed at any time due to weather, maintenance, or other operational concerns. The water for the Splash Pad is supplied directly from the municipal water supply system, however, is not intended for drinking. The water is not recirculated.

  •  Do not use the Splash Pad if you are experiencing any of the following:
    • open sore
    • rash
    • nausea
    • diarrhea
    • vomiting
  • All youth must be actively supervised by a parent/guardian.
  • Participants must be attired for their age and continence ability to prevent fouling. Swim diapers are recommended for those who are unable to manage continence.
  • Food and glass containers are not permitted.
  • No climbing on Splash Pad features.
  • No pets or bicycles are allowed on the Splash Pad.
  • Do not pollute in any manner, the water, surface, or the immediate area surrounding the Splash Pad.
  • Be weather aware. The Splash Pad must be vacated at the sound of thunder. 

The Town of Pelham has Infant, Child and Adult Lifejackets available to be borrowed free of charge through the new Lifejacket Lending Program. This program allows members of the community to sign-out lifejackets to ensure increased safety around water.

Lifejackets will be available at the Meridian Community Centre. Limited quantities available, provided on a first come first serve basis.
