Cycling in Pelham

Pelham is designated as a Bicycle Friendly Community and was first community of its size to achieve the silver award level. The Share the Road Cycling Coalition, an Ontario-based organization promoting bicycling through advocacy, recognized Pelham in large part to our commitment to healthy lifestyles, active transportation, and safe cycling.

Pelham's Silver Bicycle Friendly Community designation puts us in line with Ottawa, Toronto, Waterloo, and Hamilton, in providing an abundance of cycling choices. In fact, over 60% of our town's total road network (or 150 km) is considered highly suitable for road bikes.

Pelham has long been a cyclist's dream ride, with smooth lanes, hilly streets, winding roads, and challenging short hills. The picturesque mix of urban and rural scenic views adds to the atmosphere of our vibrant town.

So come on out to Pelham for a ride!

We're happy to welcome you to our bicycle enthusiast community anytime!
