The Town of Pelham launched a community naming contest for the concession lounge at the Meridian Community Centre (MCC) in the Fall of 2025. Residents of all ages submitted creative and meaningful name ideas, including the selected name Cook's Corner.
On Friday, October 24, the new name, submitted by Shandie Persaud and Robert McMullan was revealed.
About Mike’s Place @ Ciolfi’s Corners
The servery lounge on the second floor of the Meridian Community Centre was renamed Mike’s Place @ Ciolfi’s Corners in 2021 to honour the late Councillor Mike Ciolfi, who served on Town Council and passed away in 2020.
A dedicated public servant, Councillor Ciolfi was known for his leadership, integrity, and commitment to strengthening Pelham’s community life.
This welcoming space now serves as a lasting tribute to his legacy, providing a place for residents and visitors to gather and enjoy during MCC activities.
