FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
April 13, 2017
Pelham, ON – The Town of Pelham is pleased to welcome Marc MacDonald as the new Public Relations and Marketing Specialist.
MacDonald, a resident of St. Catharines, began working with the Town of Pelham on March 27, 2017, and is tasked with, among other things, developing and implementing public relations activities and increasing awareness of the Town’s goals and accomplishments.
“I’m very excited about this opportunity, especially as I witness the growth that is taking place in Pelham,” said MacDonald. “I look forward to building relationships within the community and serving as a conduit between the Town and its residents when it comes to disseminating news and information.”
A graduate from the Popular Culture program at Brock University, MacDonald also obtained his minor in Professional Writing and has knowledge and experience that span the scope of new responsibilities in his position with the Town.
Having spent the last nearly-five years working in the Faculty of Education at Brock University as the manager of communications and development, MacDonald also carries with him experience in media, writing for and editing the Brock University school paper (The Brock Press) and spending some time as a local reporter/photographer in Niagara-on-the-Lake (Niagara Advance) and Fort Erie (Fort Erie Times).
“I think I have a bit of a unique perspective in this role as I’ve spent time working both sides of it,” said MacDonald. “It’s been nearly three weeks since I came on board and I am in awe of the support, dedication, and ambition by everyone at the Town; this is a place I hope to call home for a very long time.”
