Pelham, ON – The Town of Pelham will receive over $300,000 in provincial funding as part of the Municipal Modernization Grants Program (MMP); the money will go toward four projects.
Funding for the projects include:
- $40,000 towards Town of Pelham Web-Based Services Review
- $143,505 towards Town of Pelham Corporate Services Function Review
- $60,000 towards Town of Pelham Digitizing Human Resources Performance Management System Review
- $60,000 towards Town of Pelham and Town of Lincoln Joint Public Library Merger Review
“The community benefits from these grants, and the Town is extremely pleased to have been selected to receive them,” said Teresa Quinlin, treasurer and director of corporate services. “The money allocated for these projects will assist municipal operations and provide a positive user experience for residents.”
The Municipal Modernization Program helps Ontario's 405 small and rural municipalities find better, more efficient ways to operate and serve their residents.
Municipalities can use the funding to conduct reviews of service delivery and administrative expenditures to find efficiencies or implement a range of projects, including developing an online system to improve the local process for approving residential and industrial developments or setting up new shared services with neighbouring municipalities.
