Residents, businesses, visitors, community groups and holiday enthusiasts are cordially invited to Pelham's Official Arches Lighting Ceremony on Friday December 6th at sunset (approximately 4:45 p.m.) in downtown Fonthill.
Community members will accompany Mayor Dave Augustyn as he publicly “flips the switch” to the newly installed lights illuminating the arches in downtown Fonthill. The lighting ceremony is part of the Town’s first ever “Under the Arches” Outdoor Christmas Market running from 4:00 - 10:00 p.m. on Friday evening.
Last year, the Town of Pelham submitted an application for funding under Niagara Region’s Smarter Niagara – Public Domain Incentives Program for the construction, winterization and sphere bulb lighting of the arches. This year, the Town upgraded hydro service and installed full illumination of the arches.
“We hope the community enjoys the illuminated arches during the Holidays and throughout the entire year,” said Mayor Dave Augustyn.
In addition to the lighting ceremony, local artisans and businesses will offer seasonal gifts and food during the outdoor market festivities in Fonthill’s downtown core.
Those travelling to the downtown core on Friday December 6th are reminded of the temporary, partial road closure of Pelham Town Square (from Pelham Street to Town Hall) from 12:00 noon until midnight.
