Garbage and recycling collection delayed due to weather
Due to extreme winter weather, garbage and recycling collection is delayed across Niagara. The following collection schedule is in effect:
Normal Collection Day / Will be collected by:
Wednesday, March 15 / Thursday, March 16 (by 7 p.m.)
Thursday, March 16 / Friday, March 17 (by 7 p.m.)
Friday, March 17 / Friday, March 17 (by 7 p.m.)
Residents should continue to place their material curbside on their regular collection day by 7 a.m., and ensure all waste and recycling containers are visible and accessible to collection staff. Residents whose area was not collected by 7 p.m. are advised to bring in their material from the curb overnight and place it curbside for collection no later than 7 a.m. tomorrow. In some cases, it may be necessary to clear an area of snow in order to safely place material at the curbside for collection. There will be no change to the one-bag garbage limit for any collection day. Recycling and organics collection is unlimited.
A reminder that residents whose collection day was Tuesday, March 14, will have their material collected on Saturday, March 18. Material must be placed curbside by 7 a.m.
