WHAT:

Pelham Pool House Re-Opening

WHEN:

Friday, June 20th at 10:00 a.m.

WHERE:

Marlene Stewart Streit Park (55 Park Lane, Fonthill)

WHY:

To celebrate the completion of this multi-phased project and the official opening of the pool for the 2014 summer season.

BACKGROUND:

PHASE 1 - 2013

FUNDING PROGRAM: Community Infrastructure Improvement Fund (CIIF)

Government of Canada GRANT: $75,000

TOTAL PROJECT BUDGET: $150,000

  • Refacing exterior walls
  • Replacing interior shower and washroom facilities in change rooms
  • Upgrading pool house for accessibility
  • Lighting replacement and improvements (interior & exterior)

 

PHASE 2 - 2014

GRANT: $0.00

TOTAL PROJECT BUDGET: $85,500

  • Add 2 garage doors to south end of building
  • New lighting and paint in Camp Room at south end
  • Outdoor showers
  • Remove existing asphalt and install new concrete slab on west side of building
  • New fence at north end

 

NOTE(S):

Grade 3 students from E.W. Farr Memorial Public School will participate in a Swim to Survive Program at 10:20 a.m. and will be available for a photo opportunity.
