Do you (or someone you know) really get into the holiday spirit with a Christmas Light Display that would make the elves jealous? Does the tree in front of your home get beautifully decorated each holiday season? Do you and your neighbours strain the power grid with a North Pole type of display? If you answered yes to any of these questions then please be sure to nominate yourself or your friends for the Communities in Bloom’s First Annual Christmas Lights Competition!
As part of the Christmas in Pelham 2013 event lineup, the Christmas Lights Competition will take place from Saturday December 7th through Wednesday December 25th. Each evening, participants will light their displays from 5:30 pm to 8:00 pm for the public to go around town and “take the tour”.
Categories for the competition include: Residential, Commercial, Tree (outdoors), and Group/Neighbourhood. All entrants must be within the Pelham boundary and displays must be visible from the street. The Communities in Bloom Committee kindly encourages everyone to use high efficiency LED lights for their displays.
Prizes provided by the Lazy Loon Restaurant & Ice Cream Bar, My Place Bar & Grill, the Urban Steakhouse and Tim Horton’s of Fonthill are up for winner’s grabs. A public ballot will determine the winners of each category and ballots will be available on www.pelham.ca and at Pelham Town Hall.
Applications are currently available on www.pelham.ca (look under Residents > Community Events > Christmas in Pelham) or by visiting Pelham Town Hall. A copy is also attached to this release. Applications are due back by Friday, November 22, 2013, in order to plan the Christmas Lights Tour.
The Communities in Bloom Committee looks forward to your entries and gives a special thanks to Niagara Peninsula Energy Inc. for being a major sponsor of Pelham’s First Annual Christmas Light Competition.
