Do you have a favourite crossing guard that helps your children get to and from school safely each day? Are you greeted with a friendly smile and exceptional service each time you encounter one of these hardworking individuals? Then be sure to nominate your special crossing guard for the “Canada’s Favourite Crossing Guard” contest!
Crossing guards play an important role in pedestrian safety by helping children make the safe journey to and from school. FedEx Express Canada and Parachute have come together to help recognize the contributions of three crossing guards in Canada.
From now until November 19, 2013, students, teachers and parents are invited to nominate their favourite crossing guard by filling out and submitting an application form to the Town of Pelham.
Tell us about your favourite crossing guard: How have they kept children safe? Why are they a good role model? Remember to include photos or pictures! FedEx Express Canada and Parachute will award the winning crossing guards $500 and provide them with an engraved plaque. The contest winner’s school will also receive $500.
Help the Town of Pelham promote the importance of pedestrian safety by encouraging your kids and their schools to participate.
Application forms are available on pelham.ca and at Pelham Town Hall. A copy is also attached to the PDF version of this release.
