The Town of Pelham is once again urging customers to be cautious of a possible drinking water scam in the community.
Homeowners have reported being contacted by a door-to-door sales company making false claims about drinking water quality and the need for mandatory in-home filtration or water softening systems. These tests and inspections conducted by the salespeople can be misleading and the results do not represent the quality of the Town’s drinking water.
Drinking water is produced at the Niagara Region water treatment facilities and supplied to homes by the Town of Pelham. At all points within the distribution system, Town of Pelham drinking water meets strict provincial standards and is safe to drink. The Town of Pelham conducts regular weekly water sampling and testing throughout the municipality. The test results are available for public information here.
To further help notify residents, the Town of Pelham will circulate this warning in the next scheduled water bills and through electronic phone call messages.
