Pelham Designates “The Comfort House” as Heritage Site

On Monday, September 19, 2016, Pelham Council unanimously approved designating 1732 Cream Street (also known as The Comfort House) under Part IV of the Ontario Heritage Act for its cultural heritage value.

On Saturday, September 10, 2016, Town Council and honoured dignitaries helped unveil and rededicate Pelham’s WWI Cenotaph and newly restored WWI Trench Mortar. (Watch the video.)

Pelham Supports School Crossing Guard Safety Initiative

On Monday, August 22, 2016, Pelham Council proclaimed September as School Crossing Guard Awareness Month to remind drivers and cyclists of the new Highway Traffic Act laws that went into effect earlier this year.
As of January 2016, motorists can NO longer turn left, right or proceed through a crosswalk on the clear half of the roadway. They now MUST wait until the entire crosswalk is empty of both pedestrians and crossing guards.
