During their Monday, October 6, 2014 meeting, Pelham Council approved a new Sanitary Sewer Backflow Prevention Incentive Program to assist homeowners in the Town’s northeast quadrant affected by flooding from sever rain storms on May 14, 2014.
The program sets aside $165,000 to provide approximately 130 eligible properties up to $1,000 to offset the cost of installing sanitary sewer backflow preventers and waives the mandatory $210 inspection fee.

On Tuesday, September 16, 2014 the Town of Pelham launched Active Network, a new web-based registration software application for recreational programs, rentals and events.
By signing up through Pelham’s customized Active Network webpage, residents can register for various activities like Camp and Zumba, Swimming and Shinny, as well as reserve facility rentals, from the comfort of their home using their credit card.

Pelham Fire Services has recently responded to an increased number of fire calls caused by cooking. As a result, residents may be wondering how common this type of fire is and whether it could happen in their home.
Cooking fires are the leading cause of home fires in Ontario. According to the Office of the Fire Marshal, approximately 1,400 home fires involve cooking equipment each year. These fires result in hundreds of injuries, an average of eight deaths and millions in property damage annually.
