By-Election 2020 - who can vote

 Wondering if you're eligible to vote in the upcoming by-election? Read below to find out the requirements for eligible voters. 

The vacant Ward One Council seat can be filled by any eligible nominee, however, only those residing or owning property in Ward One may cast a ballot. 

According to Section 17 of the Municipal Elections Act, 1996 (MEA), you are eligible to vote in the 2020 Municipal By-Election, if, on Voting Day (Tuesday, September 15, 2020), you: 

  • Are a Canadian Citizen 
  • Are at least 18 years...

Pelham remains in Stage 2 of province's reopening framework

Today the Ontario government announced the next step in Ontario’s reopening framework: Stage 3.The Town of Pelham, along with the Niagara Region, remains in Stage 2 of the province's reopening framework.

When regions enter Stage 3, nearly all of Ontario’s businesses and public spaces will be able to reopen with proper public health and workplace safety measures in place.

Town Hall open to public by appointment only - what you need to know

Town Hall is now open to the public by appointment only, following Public Health guidelines, safety standards, and best practices. All entries into Town Hall will be via the lower level doors adjacent to the Peace Park parking lot. 

When visiting Town facilities, the public will be asked to submit to a standardized screening test including having their temperature taken. Face coverings, when unable to physically distance, are required.
