The Pelham Town Hall renovation project is proceeding for the fall of 2022.
The project, first explored in 2015, has now moved into the construction phase with the support of the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario Canada Community Revitalization Fund (CCRF).
On September 6, the renovation construction phase for Town Hall began. Town Hall will remain open and accessible to residents during the construction phase. However, heavy machinery, trucks and construction trades will be onsite at various times, and parking may be limited. Town staff will ensure accessible parking will be available to residents during construction.
Entrances to Town Hall will be provided throughout the construction period, with adjustments during the project to ensure safe access for residents and staff. Residents are encouraged to follow onsite signage when visiting Town Hall.
Project Highlights:
- Washrooms facilities accessible from both the interior and exterior of the building
- A community room
- Accessible storage room
- Covered entry and vestibule for Town Hall
- Clock Tower
- Landscaped areas
History of the project:
- The Town Hall Building Addition project began in 2015, with Grguric Architects undertaking the design. Due to budgetary constraints, the project was postponed indefinitely.
- In 2021, the Town applied for third-party funding for the Town Hall Building Addition construction. It noted in the 2022 Capital Budget that construction would occur ONLY if third-party funding was received.
- The Town has received third-party funding for this project in the amount of $750,000 from the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario Canada Community Revitalization Fund (CCRF).
