The Town of Pelham is a pet-friendly community! In fact, we are home to a higher-than-average percentage of residents who own and care for pets.
To keep our outdoor places and spaces enjoyable year-round we offer stoop and scoop stations in our parks, on our trails and strategically throughout town streets where there are a lot of dog walkers. We run a licensing program that can help identify dogs if they need to be reunited with their owners after getting lost. Please visit Town Hall Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. to obtain your dog tags.
On September 3, 2013, Pelham Council agreed to designate land at Centre Street and Highway 20 for the purpose of a leash-free dog park. Working in collaboration with Niagara Region, the dog park opened in 2014. See more information on the Centre Street Leash-free Dog Park in Pelham.
Our local Welland & District Humane Society also provides a number of animal services. Please visit www.wellandspca.com for more information.
