Important Dates
Nomination Period
Candidates may register for offices from Monday, January 4, 2010 to Thursday, September 9, 2010 at a time when the Office of the Clerk is open (8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.) or on Nomination Day - Friday, September 10, 2010 between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.
Nomination Day is Friday, September 10, 2010 (9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.)
Certification of Nominations by Clerk
The Clerk shall examine each nomination by 4:00 p.m. on Monday, September 13, 2010 and if satisfied that the person is qualified to be nominated the Clerk shall certify the nomination or if not satisfied that the person is qualified to be nominated, the Clerk shall reject the nomination.
Campaign Period
The day on or after January 4, 2010 on which the candidate files a nomination through to Friday, December 31, 2010.
Deadline for Clerk to Reproduce Voter's List is Wednesday, September 1, 2010
Revision Period Commences Tuesday, September 7, 2010 to Monday, October 25, 2010
Expense Limit Notice
The Clerk shall provide each candidate with a certificate of the maximum campaign expense limit for the applicable office by Monday, September 20, 2010.
Proxy Vote Certificates
Electors appointed as voting proxies must apply for proxy voting certificates in the Clerk’s Department, or any other place designated by Town Clerk, and at an advance voting place between the hours of noon and 5:00 p.m. from Monday, September 13, 2010 (after certification of nominations) until Monday, October 25, 2010.
